A Worm and Peg Steering Boxes and Type A Idler
Box were used up to mid 1969, to approximately
SPL311-24999 and SRL311-08999. We suggest checking
as some cars have been altered. The
1963 (single carb) 1500's had a smaller
rocker shaft inside the box which takes a smaller
lower seal; and two idler housing bushings
(#481-01) instead of the 481-02 and 481-03 that the
64-69 Type A boxes use. The lower arm is also

Box Minor Rebuild Kits for boxes include

does not include needle bearings for pivot ball,
order separately if required. Steering
Box Major Rebuild Kits for boxes include both
gear shafts so all mating parts are included.
