TIMING COVER #DU13-9
This
cover is intact. It was recently removed from a complete
engine. The studs that connect to the head and timing
cover appear OK. Many times the studs are broken off
and/or missing with the internal cover threads
stripped.
The
engine wasn't allowed to run with a bad crank dampener
(pulley) which can go back and break off/wear off a big
chunk of the timing indicator. This is also
common.
The
timing cover doesn't appear to have been viciously pryed
off the engine; or been pryed on to remove a water pump.
All the
above problems could be fixed if present by surfacing;
retapping etc or using a partial timing indicator but
this one hasn't yet suffered those fates.
This
one is ugly and dirty as any one I've ever seen. If I was
to put it on an engine here I'd probably cold tank clean
it then possibly glass or plastic bead it for the
"coarse" finish or have the thing polished.
