Some of you not familiar with engines have sometimes been at a loss to tell us if you have a header or a manifold. With these pictures you can look down on the drivers side of the engine compartment and see one of these two attached to the cylinder head of the car. The intake manifold sits on top of these so you won't see a nice clear view like this but you should be able to tell which is which. Headers are aftermarket replacements for the exhaust manifold, and are contructed out of ROUND tubing. The original exhaust manifold is a casting/stamping that DOES NOT use round tubing. Don't rely on the color as each type can be any color or even chrome depending on the previous owner's taste.
