The gasket for a header or an original manifold are not interchangeable. Some of you not familiar with engines have sometimes been at a loss to tell us if you have a header or a manifold. With these pictures you can look down on the drivers side of the engine compartment and see one of these two attached to the cylinder head of the car. The intake manifold sits on top of these so you won't see a nice clear view like this but you should be able to tell which is which. Headers are aftermarket replacements for the exhaust manifold, and are contructed out of ROUND tubing. The original exhaust manifold is a casting/stamping that DOES NOT use round tubing. On the original manifold the casting for the two center exhaust outlets will be one large joined piece, not two individual ROUND pipes that a header has. Don't rely on the color as each type can be any color or even chrome depending on the previous owner's taste.
