One of the most critical items under your hood, when this ruptures your engine will soon be history unless you happen to be staring at the oil gauge that moment. This hose sits down below the oil filter where it can receive a nice dose of battery acid. If that isn't bad enough it gets to absorb the tugs and pulls of the engine. That wouldn't normally be a great factor except a lot of roadsters never have their idle adjust properly, and/or have bad engine mounts, so this hose really must endure some stress. You could just let it go, but before you do, I'd suggest pricing out bearings, pistons, cam, crankshaft etc etc etc. |
