The
63 Fairlady had a number of parts that made it unique from
later cars. Here is one of them that harkens back to the old
6-volt days when starter motors couldn't spin an engine very
fast. A hand primer on the pump. Kind of a neat idea. Not as
easy as today's cars that instantly pressurize the system
when the ignition is turned on, but if your car has sat a
long time, what better way to help it start then hand
priming the system?
These
are original production parts, and as they may be over 40
years old we include a fresh diaphram with purchase, just in
case. These are sold for their correctness and may or may
not work without switching the aforementioned diaphram. My
recollection says even the "newest" one of these is 30 years
old.
