Some
of the original fuel pumps had a much thinner mounting
flange which would sometimes break. (about half the
thickness of the pictured pump) If your car still has the
short studs for this thin flange type pump, you will need to
replace the studs in the block with some longer ones. Later
1600 engines (after R-40000) and all 2000 engines use 8mm x
1.25 thread studs. You can also use bolts, although studs
are a better way to go.
*Most
68's take this pump. Some early production cars can have the
earlier pump that is designed to accept the metal screw on
fuel line instead of the two neoprene lines.
Originally
the pumps were switched to this type, for use with two
neoprene lines, at engine number R-59199 and U20-02692.
After 35 years, either one could be on your
car...
Includes
2 gaskets, order a new spacer block if your old one has any
problems.
